WATERLOO, Iowa – The Thunder Bay Border Cats snapped a seven-game losing streak in a big way on Saturday night.

The visiting Cats pounded out 16 hits in downing the Waterloo Bucks 10-3.

Six Thunder Bay players collected multiple hits in the contest, including all-star Billy Cook, who was 2-for-5 with his 17th double of the season and 29th RBI.

Willie Bourbon was 3-for-4 with a run scored, and Brandon Trammell doubled and blasted his third home run for Thunder Bay, who trailed 2-0 after one, but scored four in the third and never looked back.

Rogelio Reyes was tagged for two runs on three hits and three walks to earn the win, his first. It was also his first start after two relief appearances.

All-star Alex Nolan also gave up a run in his debut relief performance, surrendering three hits over two innings.

Waterloo starter Christian Griffin was chased in the third and fell to a woeful 0-6.

Thunder Bay improved to 6-11 and sit eighth in the Northwoods League’s North Division, six games behind front-running Willmar. The last place Bucks slipped to 3-15.

Luke Malone is expected to get the start for Thunder Bay in Sunday’s rematch.
