DeGrazia dominates Day 1 of District Open

THUNDER BAY -- Evan DeGrazia was on fire on opening day at the newly named AON District Open.

The 25-year-old golfer shot a 7-under 65 at Fort William Country Club on Saturday, leaving him six shots clear of Casey Niemi heading into Sunday's final round, being contested at Whitewater Golf Club.

DeGrazia, one of just two golfers under par on the day, is in search of his third District Open title.

Peter Lovis is seven shots back after an even par 72.

Barry Caland, Walter Keating, Jr. and Jeff Hunter are eight shots off the pace, aftrer 1-over 73s.
