Dan Speer scored a pair of third-period goals on Sunday and Kyle Moir stopped all 26 shots he faced as the Lakehead Thunderwolves won their second straight road contest, defeating division rival Laurier 4-0.
Kris Hogg and Matt Dias, with his fourth of the season, were the other goal scorers for the Wolves (15-5-2).
Brock McPherson, who missed a pair of games with an ankle injury prior to the road trip, had a pair of assists, as did Matt Caria.
With the win the Wolves moved into second place in the OUA’s Western Conference, a point ahead of Waterloo and two up on Laurier (14-6-2). Lakehead trails front-running Western (18-4-0) by four points.
The Wolves host Western for a pair this coming weekend.
