MoonDogs snap Cats 3-game winning streak

Two-run seventh earns Mankato the win.

MANKATO, Minn. – The Thunder Bay Border Cats modest three-game winning streak came to an end on Friday night.

Sky-lar Culver doubled home a pair of runs in the seventh inning to break open a 2-2, delivering the MoonDogs (5-6) third straight win over the visiting Border Cats this season.

Thunder Bay led 2-0 at one point, Karsten Vasquez plating Bryce Jorgenson with an RBI single in the third, Ryne Edmonson scoring Jakob Newton on a fourth-inning sacrifice fly.

Joey Hecht allowed just one hit and walked two in 3.1 innings for the Cats (3-8) the loss going to Austin Eggleston, was tagged for two runs and three hits and a walk in 2.1, taking over in the fourth. Thunder Bay`s D.J. DePiero gave up the other two runs in 2.1 innings of work, to take the loss.

The win went to Mankato`s Tyler Lester, who went eight strong, allowing two runs on five hits.
