THUNDER BAY – The Lakehead Thunderwolves will open the home portion of their OUA men’s hockey schedule on Oct. 18 against the Windsor Lancers.

The team unveiled its 2019-20 schedule on Tuesday, a slate that will see them play their first five games on away from the friendly confines of Fort William Gardens.

The Wolves, who missed the playoffs this past season for just the second time in team history, will open their 18th season on Oct. 3 against Waterloo, then travel to Laurier the following day for the first of two against the Golden Hawks.

They’ll head to Sudbury the following weekend for a pair of dates against Laurentian.

In addition to Windsor, visitors to the Gardens next season will include Toronto, Concordia, Laurier, Western, Brock and Waterloo who close out the campaign against the Wolves in Thunder Bay on Feb. 7 and Feb. 8.

Road opponents also include Ryerson, York, Windsor and Guelph.

Lakehead will also play six non-conference games next season, all on home ice.

Laurentian will pay a visit to the Gardens on Sept. 20 and Sept. 21, while Guelph will come to town the following weekend for a two-game set.

Nipissing will be the opponent for the team’s traditional post-Christmas games.
