THUNDER BAY -- This past weekend the Thunder Bay Intermediate Girls Ice Lacrosse team competed in Whitby at the ‘Chicks with Sticks’ lacrosse tournament.

After being victorious in Kitchener,  Ont. with a first place championship win last month, they had an opportunity to compete in this tournament with some of the top teams in Ontario.

They went undefeated in the round robin, with eight runners versus teams with full lines of 15 runners.

They faced Nepean in an epic final, going into seven overtime periods, which is one of the longest games recorded in girls lacrosse.

Unfortunately, Thunder Bay Ice succumbed to a second place finish, losing 2-1. They travel to Six Nations in two weeks for their next tournament.
