It’s not looking good for the Christian Tolusso rink at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships in Sorel-Tracy, Que.

Tolusso gave up four in the fourth and two more in the seventh on Wednesday before shaking hands, falling 9-2 to Nova Scotia’s Scott Garnett.

The loss dropped the Tolusso rink, which also includes lead Peter DeBoer, second Mark Adams and third Adam Lamers, to 4-5 in round-robin play, meaning they’ll have to win out their remaining three games and hope for some help to make the playoff round.

Manitoba leads the 12-team event at 8-1, followed by Saskatchewan (7-2), Ontario (6-2) and Prince Edward Island (7-3).

Earlier in the day Tolusso, who curls out of the Port Arthur Curling Club, defeated Alex Forrest’s Manitoba rink 9-4, stealing deuces in the seventh and eight ends to secure the victory.

Tolusso will face Alberta and Yukon on Thursday.
