SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. -- The Algoma Thunderbirds gave the sixth-ranked Lakehead Thunderwolves a test through 20 minutes, but ran out of gas in the second half.

The Wolves, who led by three at the half, added six to their advantage in the third and pulled away in the fourth, outscoring their host 36-20 in the final quarter to notch out an 87-62 win to open second-half play.

It was Lakehead's fourth straight triumph.

Isaiah Traylor led all Thunderwolves with 22 points and eight boards, while four others hit double digits, including Laoui Msambya and Alston Harris, who dumped in 14 points apiece.

Vincent Farardeau led the Thunderbirds with 13.

Lakehead (10-4) heads to Guelph on Sunday afternoon.

They host Laurentian and Nipissing at home next Friday and Saturday night.
