THUNDER BAY – Tomas Soustal scored a pair of third-period goals to send the Lakehead Thunderwolves to overtime.

But they had to settle for a single point.

Trent Fox scored 90 seconds into the extra period on Saturday night at Fort William Gardens, earning the visiting Windsor Lancers a 3-2 triumph.

After playing a scoreless first, the Lancers scored a pair of quick goals in the second, Kody Gagnon beating Nic Renyard at 6:02 on the power play and Ethan Skinner doubling the Windsor lead 2:41 later. Renyard left the LU net after the second goal, replaced by Brock Aiken.

Soustal got the Thunderwolves on the board 57 seconds into the third, then evened things up at the 14:20 mark, beating Jonathan Reinhart for the second time in the period.

Lakehead outshot Windsor 45-32.

The Wolves, who host Toronto next weekend, are 3-3-1. Windsor improved to 4-1-0, good for second in the OUA West.
