THUNDER BAY – The Lakehead Thunderwolves blue-line grew by one on Monday.

The OUA hockey team on Monday announced it had signed defenceman Caleb Boman, a former NCAA rearguard with Niagara College.

The offensively gifted Sault Ste. Marie product spent this past season with the Trenton Golden Hawks of the Ontario Junior Hockey League, scoring 24 goals and 46 points in 54 appearances.

It’s a great find, said first-year Thunderwolves coach Andrew Wilkins.

“Caleb is effective at both ends of the ice, and he has the potential to provide more offense for our team from the back end,” Wilkins said.

Boman is eager for a second chance at the university level.

“I've heard nothing but good things about the university and the city of Thunder Bay. I'm excited to see what the future holds for me and I can't wait to get started,” he said.
