We, the family of Vincenzo Macri are deeply saddened to announce our beloved father, brother, uncle and grandfather passed into eternal rest surrounded by family on Sunday February 14, 2010 at St. Joseph hospital at the age 68 years.
Vincenzo was born June 11, 1941 in Siderno Superiore, Italy and came to Canada in 1965, where he worked as a painter until 2007. With a passion for the outdoors, he enjoyed ice fishing, hunting and gardening, he also loved bowling.
He is predeceased by his parents, Francesco and Rosina Macri, brother Michele Macri, and daughter Zina Mohammed.
He is survived by his son Vince (Ann); grandchildren Tanessa, Vince Jr., and Natasha; sisters Marietta Pasqualino (Mike), Nella La Selva (Bruno) and brother Joe Macri (Antonietta) as well as nieces and nephews Mariella, Enzo, Frances, Rob (Breanne), Frank, Romina (Paul), Tony, and Mikalah. Numerous relatives in Italy and Canada also survive.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services for the late Mr. Vincenzo Macri will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010 leaving the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley St. at Algoma at 8:50 AM to St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church for the Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM. Interment to follow in St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening after 5:00 PM in the EVEREST CHAPEL with the Vigil offered at 6:45 PM. If friends so desire, donations may be made to a Cancer charity of your choice.
