On April 28, 2024 we lost our dear mother Marjorie Owen. She was the mother of nine children Marjorie Blanchard (Stephen Waller), Sally Day, Nancy (David Andrews), Elizabeth (Stan Davey), Peggy Oshanek and John Blanchard.
Born in Port Arthur (Thunder Bay) on June 21, 1930 to Ann and Alfred Jones. She lived her whole life in Thunder Bay. She worked at the Faculty of Education Library at Lakehead University. She loved poetry and published a few of her own works.
She is survived by her above mentioned children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Glynn Owen, parents, sons Tommy and Christopher Blanchard, daughter Laura Blanchard, son-in-law Ronald Day, and her 5 brothers William, Ernest, Gilbert, Patrick and Sandford Jones and one sister Irene Jones.
We would like to thank the staff on 1 A (Daffodil) at Hogarth for taking wonderful care of our mother over the past few years.
Funeral will take place at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, 494 Leslie Ave, on May 9, 2024 at 11:00am. Interment to follow.
