FORT FRANCES, Ont. -- Riverside Health Care in conjunction with the Northwestern Public Health Unit has declared the Influenza outbreak over at Rainycrest Long Term Care Home, effective January 29th, 2018.

All admissions, transfers, discharges and social activities have resumed.  All visitors are now welcomed.

We are still urging people to stay at home and refrain from visiting residents when feeling unwell to avoid spreading infections to those most vulnerable:  young infants and children, the elderly and those with other chronic illnesses.

The public is reminded to prevent getting and spreading infections by:

Getting a seasonal flu shot;
Washing hands often, for at least 15 seconds with soap and warm water or by using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer;
Putting all used tissues in the garbage right away; and
Staying
at home if sick, to avoid spreading infections to others.
