The Thunder Bay Police Services Board is debating a planned staffing expansion as it looks to recover from years of missteps and controversy.

St. Patrick High School is being evacuated after first being placed on lockdown following the latest threat directed at the school

City police continue to be concerned with the number of alcohol and drug-impaired drivers on the roads.

A youth has been charged in connection to two of the threats made to the south side high school.

Thunder Bay Police say a vehicle and pedestrian were involved in the collision, at the intersection of James and Walsh streets.

Classes and activities will resume at St. Patrick High School on Tuesday, after the latest threat against the school saw classes dismissed Monday.

Warrants have been issued for the arrest of a man who raced away from a RIDE check in Thunder Bay.

Gary Lamont, who was previously convicted of sexual assault and recently pleaded guilty to charges in a Norval Morrisseau art fraud ring, has also pleaded guilty to three more counts of sexual assault for incidents in 2021 and 2022 .

Robert Wayen Lysenchuk, 73, and Colin Andrew Palmquist, 33, face multiple charges related to recent police investigations and seizures.
