City of Kenora media release

KENORA, Ont. -- The Annual Stuff a Boat Challenge will take place this year on four Fridays, August 3, August 10, August 17 and August 24 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 p.m. in the Safeway Parking lot.  Four teams over these four weeks will solicit donations of food and cash to help raise awareness and goods for Making Kenora Home’s month-long campaign, Hunger Doesn’t Take a Vacation

Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources Fire Management Team, Treaty Three Police, and Ontario Provincial Police and Kenora Emergency Services will be taking part in the challenge this year.

We appreciate that Safeway is once again providing space to host the event. Safeway will also have bags of food available for donation. Al VanBelleghem of K-Sports will again transport a new boat to fill each week. Each team has four hours to try to gather the greatest amount of donations for a local food bank of the team’s choice.

Last year Treaty 3 Police won the event by bringing in 836 pounds of food and $815.35 in cash.
