SIOUX LOOKOUT, Ont. – Ontario Provincial Police have charged a Sioux Lookout youth with arson.
According to a release, police were dispatched to a house fire Aug. 14 around 7:40 p.m. in the area of Cornerstone Lane.
While attending the scene, officers observed the home to be filled with smoke.
The fire department entered the home and advised that there was clothing on fire and the fire had been put out.
The investigation revealed that the fire had been intentionally set and fire alarms were damaged causing them to be inoperable.
As a result, police have charged a 14-year-old youth with arson.
He was released and is scheduled to attend court on Sept. 11.
