General Motors actually presented the 2019 editions of the Chevrolet Malibu, the Chevrolet Cruze, the Chevrolet Spark and the Chevrolet Camaro during a media event in Las Vegas, where the The Car Guide had to opportunity to discover the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.

The Malibu gets a new grille and reshaped headlight clusters, while the Premier version benefits from LED projectors. The rear bumper was also redesigned, which now flaunt more prominent exhaust outlets. A new RS trim level is added for 2019, which boasts exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels, a black grille, a trunk spoiler and black fabric seat upholstery. The Malibu RS will be positioned between the LS and LT trims.

The turbocharged, 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine still produces 160 horsepower, but a new continuously variable automatic transmission will replace the current six-speed unit. The 182-horsepower hybrid powertrain and the 252-horsepower, turbo 2.0-litre four remain unchanged.

The Premier version benefits from heated rear outboard seats and an eight-inch driver instrument pod. Changes also include new paint colours and alloy wheel designs.

Pricing hasn’t yet been announced, but the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu will be on sale later this year.
