THUNDER BAY -- City police continue to investigate a break-in last month that resulted in a woman being assaulted by an intruder, finding other suspicious activity on that date in the area.

During the early morning hours of June 26, a 57-year-old woman had awoken to find a man standing inside the living room of her South Kenogami Avenue home. When she screamed for her husband, the woman was struck.

The intruder then fled through an unlocked back door, which police believed as the same door that was used to gain access to the house.

The ensuing investigation has found other suspicious activity on the 100 block of South Kenogami Avenue, as well as the 600 block of Dawson Street.

The suspect is described as six-foot-tall Indigenous man, weighing 220 pounds with short hair and appearing to be about 25 years old. The suspect had been wearing a light grey long-sleeved shirt and light blue jeans.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in those areas on or since June 26 to contact police at 684-1200. Tips may also be submitted online at www.p3tips.com.
