At our recent Volunteer Appreciation event, an important discussion emerged about the serious safety concerns at the entrance to the New to You store on Highway 6. One of our dedicated GHVA volunteers has since taken action and written a petition to bring these concerns to the attention of MPP J. Racinsky and the Ministry of Transportation.
As many of you know, entering and exiting our lot has always been challenging. But now, with construction on-site and a new condominium complex about to be fully occupied, traffic is only going to increase. This already busy stretch of Highway 6 is becoming more dangerous by the day. We fear it’s only a matter of time before a serious accident occurs.
We’re asking for your help. Installing a traffic light at the entrance to our property would not only make this area safer for volunteers, donors, and shoppers, but also help slow traffic as it enters town.
