Safety Coordinator at National Group of companies

National Group is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to join our team in Sault Ste. Marie. As a Safety Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety of our employees, customers, and equipment, including providing safety training to both internal staff and external customers.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
• Provide safety training to employees, promoting a culture of safety awareness and responsibility.
• Offer safety training and resources to our valued customers, empowering them to maintain safe practices when using our equipment.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-miss events, identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures.
• Maintain accurate safety records and documentation, including incident reports and training records.
• Collaborate with management and department heads to develop and update safety protocols and guidelines.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve our safety program.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar role in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and train employees and customers.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and adherence to safety standards.
• Certification in relevant safety programs (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR) is a plus.
