Centre hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some flexibility for weekday evening work depending on client needs.

About the Opportunity
We’re looking for a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist who is passionate about working alongside children and families in a caring, respectful way. This is to back-fill a vacancy.

In this role, you’ll be part of creating welcoming, family-centred care through assessment, therapy, coaching, and education that supports children and families in Sault Ste. Marie and nearby communities.

You’ll work as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Infant and Child Development Consultants, and Supervised Instructor Therapists (ABA Therapists), and other amazing disciplines. Together, we collaborate to ensure holistic, coordinated, and strengths-based care for every child and family we serve.

As part of our collaborative team, you will:
- Provide assessments and intervention for children and youth with speech sound, motor speech, fluency, and voice needs.
- Work with families to create clear, practical care plans.
- Support, mentor, and oversee Communicative Disorders Assistants (CDAs) to ensure all care provided is safe, effective, and consistent with individualized treatment plans and professional guidelines.
- Collaborate with caregivers, schools, and other professionals.
- Deliver services in a culturally responsive and family-centred way.
- Work in alignment with THRIVE’s Mission, Vision, Values, and family-centred philosophy.
- Depending on caseload, you’ll work at the Centre, in the community, or school settings.
- Opportunity to help shape the next generation of professionals by mentoring and serving as a preceptor for placement students in a supportive, learning-focused environment.
- Travel within the region (including occasional overnight trips).

CASLPO mentorship is available.

What You Bring
Required:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent).
- Member in good standing (or in process) with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
- Experience with children and youth (new grads welcome!).
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, cultural safety, and family partnership.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort with technology (MS Office, Zoom, Teams, virtual therapy).
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification training.
- Satisfactory background and vulnerable sector check.
- Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination.
- Willingness to work flexible hours (including evenings if needed).

Assets:
- Experience in pediatric rehabilitation.
- Experience assessing and treating speech sound, motor speech, fluency, and voice disorders.
- Training in Hanen, ADP authorizer, or autism intervention approaches is ideal but not required
- Bilingual (English/French) is an asset but not required.
