Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Production Cook to join Gordon’s. As part of the kitchen team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food preparation for our prepared meals.

Kitchen Production Cook Responsibilities

Food Preparation and Meal Assembly:
-The primary responsibility of this role will be preparing a variety of ready-made meals both fresh and frozen in large quantities.
-Assist in the preparation, assembly and packaging of sandwiches, salads and smoothies for café customers as needed.
-Prepare and assemble baked fresh café items including croissants, cookies, and muffins as needed.
-Follow recipes and guidelines provided by the Kitchen Manager.
-Ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality and safety standards.

Food Safety and Handling:
-Adhere to all food safety and handling protocols and guidelines.
-Maintain proper food storage and labelling practices.

Cleaning and Maintenance:
-Assist in washing dishes and maintaining kitchen equipment to ensure longevity.
-Participate in daily cleaning routines to maintain kitchen hygiene and organization.
-Ensure all kitchen areas are kept clean and free from hazards.

Inventory Management:
-Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels.
-Assist in stocking and receiving supplies.

Additional Support:
-Support the Kitchen Manager with various other tasks as assigned.
-Be flexible and willing to take on new tasks as the menu and business needs evolve.

Qualifications

-Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is required.
-Food preparation for catering is preferred.
-Knowledge of food safety and handling guidelines.
-Ability to work independently.
-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
-Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
-Good communication and teamwork skills.
-Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and responsibilities.
-Knowledge of cooking techniques and meal preparation.
-Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
-Food handler’s certificate or willingness to obtain one prior to start.
