OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN
Water Treatment & Water Distribution Level I, II, or III
The Aspen Regional Water Services Commission is accepting applications for an Operations Technician position focusing on the operations and maintenance of the ARWSC Regional Water Treatment Plant in Athabasca, Alberta and the Regional Water Transmission Line in the Athabasca County Region. Candidates will be competent with transmission pipeline operations and maintenance as well as operation and maintenance of the Regional Water Treatment Plant. Candidates will also be comfortable working independently in rural environments in all weather conditions and capable of handling both physical and intellectual challenges associated with operating rural waterworks systems in Northern Alberta.
Ideal candidates will have a post secondary education focusing on environmental or applied sciences, engineering or engineering technologies, and/or related trades or certificates. NAIT Water and Wastewater Technician Program or other experience in water treatment / distribution operations will be considered an asset.
A High School Diploma, a valid, unrestricted Alberta Class 5 drivers’ license, and a clear criminal record check are required.
Compensation for this position is $30.67 to $48.51 per hour depending on level of AEP certification completed. Work hours are 40 hours a week with rotational weekend shifts. ARWSC offers a comprehensive benefits package and pension plan.
