Besides the questions about life on the Hill (it's wonderful and hectic) and what Justin Trudeau is like in real life (he's incredibly kind and fiercely intelligent), one of the most common questions I'm asked is "What is the purpose of your constituency office?"
The short answer is, the Thunder Bay-Superior North Constituency Office is here to make sure you can connect with me as your Member of Parliament, but it also serves to make sure you have direct contact with the federal government when you need it.
To-date our constituency office has helped more than 650 people navigate the federal government, which can be quite challenging at times. We've helped families get answers from Canada Revenue, wedding guests acquire visas and helped newcomers become Canadians. Any time constituents need it, we're here to help.
The staff at 705 Red River Road Suite 3 can also assist with a variety of issues, including:
- Canada Pension Plan
- Canada Child Benefit
- Old Age Security
- Passport Canada
- Employment Insurance Benefits
- Citizen and Immigration
- Canada Student Loans
- Canada Revenue Agency
- Guaranteed Income Supplement
- Veterans Affairs
- Federal Crown Corporations
- Federal funding for organizations
It's also a place to come if you're not satisfied with a decision, if you need to rally for a cause or even just to stop by and share your concerns or ideas. Constituency work is challenging but very rewarding and I'm thrilled to have such an incredible team in Thunder Bay-Superior North ready to help you.
