THE GOLDEN VIOLIN - Saturday, September 16, 8 p.m.

Consortium Aurora Borealis opens its 39th concert season, “The Brilliance of Borealis”, with “The Golden Violin”. Thomas Cosbey, Concertmaster of the Thunder Bay Symphony, joined by pianist Heather Morrison, will perform exquisite music from the Romantic Era, including virtuosic showpieces. On offer is a Brahms violin sonata, plus appealing short works by Schumann, Fauré, Debussy, Kreisler, Bloch, Sarasate, and others. Cosbey “astounds with dextrous skill… masterful and passionate.”

Saturday, September 16, 2017, 8:00 p.m., at St. Paul's United Church, 349 Waverley Street, Thunder Bay. Informative pre-concert talk at 7:30 p.m. by Michelle Zapf-Bélanger. The church is handicapped-accessible (elevator).
