PROSPECTING COURSE
If you are interested in rocks, minerals and prospecting this course is for you!
The course will be delivered by geologists from the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines.
The focus will be:
• Rock and mineral identification
• Developing a basic understanding of geology and orebody formation
• Determining where to look for specific types of orebodies (e.g., gold, copper, nickel, amethyst, etc.)
• Basic map reading skills to interpret geology and geophysics maps
• The Ontario Government resources available to prospectors, including web accessible materials
• Basic Mining Act knowledge
• Basic prospecting and mapping skills
• And much more
The course will be classroom-based with outdoor navigation and mapping exercises (Weather permitting).

Saturday October 15, and Sunday October 16, 9 to 5 am
Friday, October 21, 7 to 10 pm
Saturday October 22, and Sunday October 23, 9 to 5 am
