THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay’s active COVID-19 case count is back in double digits, if only slightly.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit on Thursday announced three new cases, with only two previous cases now considered to be newly resolved, leaving the region at 10 cases.

It’s the first time in three days a new case was announced in the District of Thunder Bay, though none of the new cases are considered to reside in Thunder Bay and surrounding area, with two living in district communities and the third in a First Nation community.

There has only been one new case in the city and surrounding area in the past seven days.

The health unit on Wednesday announced it will no longer be providing case updates on Saturdays, having stopped giving updates on Sundays on April 11.

Weekend cases will instead be reported on Mondays.
