COVID outbreak declared at Jasper Place

THUNDER BAY – A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at a city-run senior’s home.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit and the City of Thunder Bay on Friday said there are two cases of the virus at Jasper Place, which has resulted in the declaration of an outbreak.

A thorough assessment is taking place, including enhanced surveillance and testing activities. Further measures will be taken as warranted.

The health unit said prior to the outbreak being declared, significant measures were already in place to reduce the likelihood of transmission of the virus at the facility.
