Thunder Bay Military Family Resource Centre

Thunder Bay Military Family Resource Centre

The Thunder Bay Military Family Resource Centre was established in 1999. It is our mission to enhance the quality of life and to enrich the military experience for Canadian Forces families in Thunder Bay, by providing specialized programs and services to promote health, education and social well being.

The Canadian Forces recognizes the contributions and sacrifices made by families and the difficulties that Canadian Forces members may face in balancing commitment to country with family life.

The Military Family Services Program (MFSP), established in 1991, was developed to provide military families, and specifically spouses, with a voice in how their family lives were affected by the military occupational lifestyle.

The Thunder Bay Military Family Resource Centre is one of 43 Military Family Resource Centres located in Canada and across Europe. The Thunder Bay Military Family Resource Centre is a community based, not-for-profit organization that provides Canadian Forces families with coordinated, consistent and effective services. These services are primarily preventative in nature and take into account the unique challenges facing Canadian Forces families.

The Thunder Bay Military Family Resource Centre is a satellite of the Winnipeg Military Family Resource Centre and is governed by the Winnipeg Board of Directors, as well as a local Advisory Council.
