I would like to nominate Krista Vescio. Krista is a parent volunteer at Ogden Community School. She works tirelessly to help give all of our students every opportunity that comes our way. She runs our pizza Thursdays, runs dances, helps prepare and run our fall feast, runs bake sales, Persian days, helps during our holiday events, helps at every field trip and you can always find her BBQing at any outdoor event.
This year our school had the opportunity to have a Hockey Academy for grades 4-8. This was a huge deal for our students and Krista has gone over and above to help give every child that opportunity. She has helped size all 32 students in the hockey program for their equipment, organized all the equipment into their individual bags, organized and tracked jerseys for each student, and has shown up to the school and rink every Thursday to help kids with their equipment, tie skates, help on the ice and makes herself available to run back to the school if need be. She has helped this hockey program run and be the success it is.
She knows every kindergarten student by name and can often be seen giving them a high five or pound as she enters the school and sometimes you may even see her fly in an imaginary airplane, or help one of the JKs write their name.
Krista is the heart of Ogden school but rarely gets recognized because she never makes a big deal or asks for anything in return. She simply just shows up and does what has to be done to help our students enjoy school and the opportunities that come their way. We don't know what we would do without her and we are so grateful for all the work she does and the support she offers our staff and students.
Krista deserves to be a Holiday Hero because she is a hero every day at our school!
