Job Requirements

Avenue II provides support to adults with developmental disabilities to live independently in their own home and complete activities of daily living, to access and participate in community based activities and to acquire employment. Secondary Education, Developmental Service Worker Diploma, Social Services Worker,
Child and Youth Worker, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Casual positions are expected to work a flexible schedule which includes: weekdays, weekends and statutory holiday coverage. Casuals may apply for internal positions upon hire.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be able to support adults with a disability to live an inclusionary lifestyle in conjunction with the concepts of the Mission of Avenue II, “Total Inclusion Through People - Live Learn and Succeed”. This person will have excellent team member/player skills along with effective communication (oral and written) skills. Their support strategies will encompass the concepts of Gentle Teaching, Non-violent Crisis Intervention, Dignity of Risk and Inclusion.
