Indigenous Liaison Intern ( 1 year contract)

United Way of Thunder Bay is currently seeking an Indigenous Liaison Intern. Reporting to the Director of Community Impact the successful candidate will work with the United Way, Indigenous and non-Indigenous local agencies, organizations and community members including youth to help identify opportunities to reduce racism, develop appropriate Indigenous cultural awareness training and help with the development of a potential funding stream to support future work.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate is highly dedicated and organized with a strong ability to multitask. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Must be a university or college graduate within the last three years in a program relating to Indigenous Studies, Community Development or Social Work. This Intern position must provide first time employment in the above mentioned related fields of education. Graduates with experience and knowledge of Aboriginal history and culture will be considered an asset. Candidates are only eligible to participate in the internship program one time.
