Job Requirements

Superior customer service skills.
Experience as a Service Technician desired but not required.
Valid unrestricted driver’s license.
Advanced education degree, coursework, or tech school an asset.
Refrigeration certification/gas ticket/appliance repair course an asset.
HVAC experience an asset.
Ability to complete written or computerized reports of installation with accuracy.
Able to problem-solve and follow detailed instructions.
Pass all assessments/inventories administered during the hiring and training process.
Submit to a background check.

Job Description

Mr. Appliance is currently looking for an in home service technician for our Thunder Bay location. The Service Technician(s) is responsible to perform minor to moderately complex service of major appliances. He/She is to perform these duties in a consistent, detailed, and highly professional manner. The Technician performs services that equal or exceed company and customer quality standards and is alert to additional service opportunities that may benefit the customer. The ideal candidate(s) for the position(s) will have experience as a Service Technician. In addition he/she must have and maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license and be 18 years of age or older. The following is a representative list of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position:

Accurately troubleshoot all problems inherent to all major appliances.
Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustment relocation, or replacement.
Test continuity of currents to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter.
The ability to use a mobile electronic device for service call processes, routing functions, and parts inquiries/ordering.
Coordinate with the Service Manager in matters that are beyond authority or ability to handle.
Maintain truck inventory with the prescribed company guidelines and standards.
