Education

Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience

Mechanical Repairer Specific Skills

Test and adjust units to specifications; Complete reports to record problems and work performed; Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions; Diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit; Repair or replace mechanical units or components

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)

4th Period Apprentice; 3rd Period Apprentice; Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certificate; Truck and Transport Mechanic Red Seal Endorsement; Truck-Trailer Repairer Red Seal Endorsement; Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification; Truck-Trailer Repairer Trade Certification

Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements; Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems; Perform scheduled maintenance service; Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications; Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor; Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicles and test automotive systems and components

Truck and Transport and Truck-Trailer Mechanic Specific Skills

Perform scheduled maintenance service; Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications; Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems; Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems
