10 new COVID-19 cases in the Thunder Bay area

There are 101 active cases across the TBDHU region.

THUNDER BAY — The Thunder Bay District Health Unit has announced 10 new COVID-19 cases in the City of Thunder Bay and immediate surrounding area.

Of the 10 cases, two are listed as no known exposure, four are listed as close contact and four are pending. All 10 individuals are self-isolating.

An analysis of TBDHU data shows they are all under 69 years of age, including two who are younger than 20.

The episode dates are between Dec. 7 and Dec. 15.

At the Southbridge Roseview long-term care home, the company reports a total of 20 current active cases, including 10 residents and 10 staff.

To date, 12 residents of the facility have died after contracting the virus.

The TBDHU now reports 101 active cases in its coverage area, with no patients in hospital.

This is 2 fewer active cases than on Wednesday.
