115 new COVID-19 cases in Thunder Bay district

The active case count stands at 242.

THUNDER BAY — The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reported 115 new COVID-19 cases in its service area as of Monday morning.

TBDHU's online dashboard showed the district's active case count has fallen to 242, which is 62 fewer than on Friday.

But the number of people with COVID-19 in hospital rose to 49, an increase of eight.

This includes eight people in intensive care, the same number as on Friday.

Since the onset of the pandemic, 8,703 district residents have tested positive for the virus, and 79 people have died after contracting COVID-19.
