THUNDER BAY —For the first time since Jan. 20, the number of active COVID-19 cases in the Thunder Bay region has fallen below 100.
This is despite the fact the Thunder Bay District Health Unit reports 13 new cases, all in the city and immediate area, today.
Because 23 cases were resolved since Tuesday, the active caseload has dropped to 93.
The new cases include one at the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre, where an outbreak continues, seven close-contact cases, three with no known exposure, and two still pending.
Three patients remain in hospital, including one in the intensive care unit.
Across Ontario, there are 1,072 new cases today, 50 more than on Tuesday.
