THUNDER BAY – Nominations open Tuesday for the City of Thunder Bay’s 8th annual respect. Awards. The Respect Initiative Working Group is calling for nominations for the 2020 awards, which are sponsored by Diversity Thunder Bay. The respect. Award recognizes an individual, business, or organization that has demonstrated leadership in enhancing diversity and respect for others. Two respect. Awards will be awarded this year: one for an individual and one for an organization or business.

“Each year, as the nominations for the respect. Awards start coming in, we are inspired by the commitment and dedication of our community members and organizations and their work to address all forms of discrimination to make our community more inclusive and respectful for everyone,” said Tina Maronese, Chair of the Respect Working Group. “Respect is critical for building trust, positive relationships, and embracing the growing diversity within our community.”
 
The Award will be presented on Thursday, March 19, 2020, during Diversity Thunder Bay’s 14th Annual Celebration Breakfast, which recognizes the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

The respect. Initiative is a joint initiative of the Anti-Racism & Respect Advisory Committee and the Thunder Bay Crime Prevention Council.
