$217,000 worth of crystal meth seized in Dryden

DRYDEN, Ont. — Ontario Provincial Police have charged two Dryden-area residents with multiple drug-related and other offences.

A 30-year-old Wabigoon man and a 27-year-old man from Wabigoon Lake First Nation were arrested after a traffic stop on Highway 17 in Dryden on Feb. 20.

Officers seized crystal methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $217,000, as well as crack cocaine, heroin, oxycodone tablets, hydromorphone, drug paraphernalia, a gun with ammunition, and Canadian currency.

The charges include possession for trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, possession of property obtained by crime, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

The Wabigoon man was held in custody pending a court appearance Monday.

The accused person from Wabigoon Lake First Nation was released on an undertaking to appear in court next month to answer to the charges.
