KENORA, Ont. — Ontario Provincial Police have released new details concerning the arrest of a suspect in connection with a shooting incident.

A 63-year-old resident of Kenora faces numerous weapons-related charges.

OPP responded in force, including the deployment of the Emergency Response Team, after reports of a gun being discharged in the city late Friday morning.

A man will appear in court charged with:

  • careless use of a firearm
  • possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibited order
  • discharge of a firearm into or at a place in a reckless manner
