Seven people have been sent to a nursing station with non-life threatening injuries following a plane crash Wednesday afternoon at Kasabonika First Nation.
According to officials with the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service, pilots were trying to land a Wasaya Air Beech 1900-D aircraft, which carried 13 passengers and two crew members, at the Kasabonika airport around noon when the plane veered off the runway.
In addition to the injuries, the twin-prop aircraft suffered significant damage.
Weather conditions are said to have been clear and windy at the time.
Officials from Wasaya Airways say they are co-operating with the Transportation Safety Board investigation.
The exact cause is unknown at this time.
