Ten restricted handguns were among the weapons turned in last month.

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police say April’s gun amnesty month was a success.

The department collected a total of 78 guns, including 10 restricted or prohibited handguns, and a significant amount of ammunition.

Police, in a release issued on Tuesday, said anyone wanting to dispossess a firearm or ammunition should phone police at 684-1200 to make arrangements.
