THUNDER BAY — A youth from Blind River, Ontario has been arrested in connection with the homicide in the Arthur Street/Brodie Street area of the city last week.

Thunder Bay Police have charged a 16-year-old with first degree murder in the death of 24-year-old Michael Park.

The Toronto man was pronounced dead in hospital Friday after a shooting incident.

The teen was apprehended Tuesday by Ontario Provincial Police in Blind River.

He appeared in court Wednesday morning via video and was remanded into custody pending a future court appearance.

Police previously arrested 40-year-old Greg Casimir Meshake of Thunder Bay, also on a charge of first degree murder.

Investigators believe the homicide – the 12th of the year in the city – is connected to drug trafficking in the community.
