UPDATED: A COVID outbreak in one section of St. Joseph's Hospital is over

THUNDER B AY — A COVID-19 outbreak declared on May 2, 2022 in a section of St. Joseph's Hospital has been declared over.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit and St. Joseph's Care Group announced Wednesday that patients and staff on 1 East (Mental Health Rehabilitation) are now symptom-free.

But according to information published by TBDHU, a COVID outbreak is ongoing on 2 South.

It was declared on May 10.

TBDHU also disclosed the termination of an outbreak at Hogarth Riverview Manor's 2 South (Bluebell) resident home area.

Several outbreaks in other sections of Hogarth Riverview Manor continue.

As of late Wednesday afternoon, there were a total of  ten publicly-disclosed outbreaks in various high-risk settings in the city including hospitals, long-term care homes, retirement residences and the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre.
