Police are on the hunt for a scruffy-looking man they say might have attempted to abduct a 14-year-old girl on Monday afternoon.
In a release issued on Tuesday, police say a suspicious man, believed to be in his 40s with grayish hair, allegedly grabbed the arm of the girl on the city’s south side. The suspect was driving an SUV near the 200 block of Cumming Street when he motioned for the girl to come to his vehicle. The man then got out of his vehicle and grabbed her arm.
The victim broke his grip and ran home, where she called police. She was not injured and the man drove away in an unknown direction.
The suspect is described as being Caucasian, approximately 5-foot-6 and was wearing a grey sweater with a zipper and jeans.
The SUV may be gold in colour.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Thunder Bay Police Services or Crime Stoppers.
