UPDATED: Active COVID-19 case count falls to one in Thunder Bay district

The daily number of cases has been five or fewer since Sept. 20.

THUNDER BAY — There is only one active COVID-19 case across the District of Thunder Bay.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit made the disclosure Tuesday morning when it provided its first COVID-19 status update since Friday.

It said the only active case is one that  was confirmed over the weekend.

The person who's infected had recently travelled outside Northwestern Ontario.

The district's active caseload stood at one both on Thursday and Friday of last week as well, the first time it has been that low since July 23, 2021.

The district's active case count has not surpassed five since Sept. 20, 2021.
