Active COVID-19 case count rises to 16 in district

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is reporting eight new cases since Friday in the district.

THUNDER BAY - The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Thunder Bay District has climbed to 16 with eight new cases being reported since Friday.

Of the new cases reported, five are from First Nation communities, two from district communities, and one from Thunder Bay or surrounding areas.

The exposure category is listed as close contact for three of the new cases, one is from travel outside of Northwestern Ontario, and four with no known exposure.

There is also one active case of COVID-19 being treated in hospital.
