THUNDER BAY — The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Thunder Bay district has climbed to 127.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit's updated COVID dashboard on Wednesday morning showed this is an increase of 19 cases since the last update on Monday.
However the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 fell by five, to 20.
The number of patients in intensive care remained steady at nine.
TBDHU reported a slight decrease in the COVID-19 positivity test rate.
During the week of March 27 to April 2, it was 12.9 per cent, compared with 13.3 per cent the previous week.
There are currently four COVID-19 outbreaks in high-risk settings in the district, including the Chartwell Thunder Bay retirement residence and Plaza 2 of the Pioneer Ridge nursing home.
