Aggravated assault sends man to hospital

THUNDER BAY -- One man was taken to hospital following an aggravated assault Monday afternoon.

Thunder Bay Police responded to reports of an assault Monday just after 1 p.m. in the 200 block of Picton Avenue.

Police located an unconscious injured male inside a residence.

The male was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with serious injuries.

Investigators located and arrested a suspect at the scene.

Mark Colin Atatise, 27, of Thunder Bay has been charged with aggravated assault.

He appeared in court Tuesday morning and was remanded into custody for a future court date.

The investigation is ongoing.
