THUNDER BAY -- This city’s International Airport is looking for a new chief executive officer.
Ian McCormack, chair of the airport authority board confirmed with CKPR Radio Friday that Scott McFadden’s last day on the job with the Thunder Bay International Airport Authority was Sept. 23.
He had been with the organization in that position for 17 years.
The airport property has seen tremendous growth in recent years, with new hangars and record passenger numbers.
McCormack admits the airport did well during McFadden's tenure, and says the board wishes him the best of luck. But McCormack refused to say what led to the departure, or whether the decision was mutual.
Manager of Business Development Ed Scmidke will take over as interim CEO.
The board will now work on what the board calls “executive recruitment” and will try to find a full-time and permanent replacement for outgoing McFadden.
